Contributed by: Marie McQuarrie Elijah Crotts was from Cleveland County North Carolina. He enlisted in August, 27, 1863 and was killed in action at Snickers Gap, Virginia July, 18, 1864. I have his service records and they list the place of death as "Snake ferry". Most of the research sources I've seen, however, refer to it as Snickers Gap. He was in the 30th North Carolina Infantry, and a private in Company H. My mother Lonnie Crotts of Fulton County , Arkansas was his granddaughter. We are related to several other Crotts from Cleveland county who fought for the Confederacy. |
