Company A 43 Regiment NC Troops

Born in Duplin County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in 
Duplin County at age 25, March 11, 1862.  Present or accounted for until 
wounded in the side at Cold Harbor, Virginia, June 2, 1864.  Returned to
duty prior to September 1, 1864.  Present or accounted for until wounded
in the scalp and captured near Petersburg, Virginia, March 25, 1865. 
Hospitalized at Washington, DC until released on June 14, 1865, after 
taking the Oath of Allegiance.
