Lewis Thomas Ezell

Lewis Thomas Ezell (Ezele):  born 1827 Duplin County   Died August 19, 1863 
from wounds suffered  at Fort Wagner, Charleston, South Carolina.  
Lewis served with Company B, 51st Regiment, North Carolina Troops.
Died from wounds received at Morris Island, SC.  Age 30 years, Company E   
51st NC Regiment.
 
He is in the Confederate Section of Magnolia Cemetery/ Charleston, S.C.  It 
was in this cemetery that the Confederates aboard the submarine"Hunley" 
were buried.
 
Headstone is weathered and states L. Ezell  Co. B. 51st Regt.  NCV.
