A young great nephew gave the information for his death certificate.  Because he was always 
called Mack Davis that young man gave his surname as McDavis and NC will not correct this 
without an act of congress.

His wife's tombstone next to his reads:  "Harriet Belk wife of Mack Davis" .  She died in 1909 
and he gave the information for her death certificate.
