Peter William McBride

Peter William McBride was the son of Matthew McBride and Sarah West 
McBride of Bladen County.
 
Private Peter William McBride is a Confederate Home Guard veteran who 
reported to active duty on several occasions and was later honorably 
discharged.  Pvt. McBride served in the 55th Regiment, North Carolina 
Militia on 2 separate occasions in 1862 and 1863.  He received a discharge 
on both occasions.  Pvt McBride served in Company B, 20th Batallion Home 
Guards in 1864.  He was also discharged from this unit.  He finally served in 
the 8th Regiment in Major Whitfields Batallion in late 1864.

Pvt McBride was buried in the Shaw/McBride/West Cemetery on Jack Richardson 
road near Ammon.  His grave was never marked.  Jason Bordeaux and Layton 
Dowless placed a marker for him on June 14, 2008.
