Stephen Henry Price

Contributed by: Betty Wiggins

My great, great grandfather, Stephen Henry Price of Wayne Co, NC, was a
cobbler and was captured by Northern troops in the Civil War. According to
family records, his wife Catherine Thompson Price was 4 months pregnant (she
had 4 other living children) when her husband died in the war. He only
served about four months before he was captured on the road to Richmond.
While a prisoner, he made shoes for the Union army. Stephen Henry Price was
the son of Rebecca "Becky" Price. Becky Price later married Bryant S.
Parker. Becky Price was the daughter of Hannity Price and his wife Hannah.

Catherine Thompson was the daughter of Thomas Thompson and Jelitha/Telitha
Carter, all of Wayne Co, NC.
