William R.(Robert) Pate, Private
Born in Wayne County and resided in Duplin County where he was by occupation
a farmer prior to enlisting at "Dail's" at age 34, March 6, 1862.  Present or
accounted for until captured at Winchester, Virginia, September 19, 1864.  
Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, September27, 1864.  Paroled at Point
Lookout on February 18, 1865.  Received at Bouleware's Wharf, James River,
Virginia on or about February 20, 1865, for exchange.
