    The 21st Regiment, Hoke’s Brigade—which has been on detached duty in this 
    state for some time past under the command of that officer has been ordered to 
    report to Richmond and the whole regiment takes the train for High Point today.  
    This regiment has done good service since it has been in this state.  We were 
    told by an officer of the regiment yesterday that they have returned to the service 
    at least five deserters to each man in the regiment.  Company M, Captain J.E. 
    Gilmar of the 21st Regiment is made up entirely of men from this county.  We 
    have been pleased to see many of these gallant men in our town during their stay.
