    forbid them not for such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”
    Three pairs of dimpled arms as white as snow;
    Hold me in soft embrace;
    Three little cheeks like velvet peaches soft
    Were placed against my face;
    Three tiny pairs of eyes so clear, so deep,
    Looked up into mine this even’;
    Three pairs of lips kissed me a sweet “good night”;
    Three little forms from Heaven
    Ah! It is well that “little ones” should love us;
    It lights our faith when dim,
    To know that once our blessed Savior bade them
    Bring “little ones” to Him.

    member of the Methodist Church. This amiable young lady died of typhoid fever
    and diphtheria. But a few weeks ago she appeared in the full vigor of health. She
    delighted her companions by the geniality and generosity of her nature—and little
    did we think then that ere the setting of the 24th January’s sun her form would
    rest in the narrow precincts of the cold, damp grave. But she is gone! A vacant
    place is now seen in the family circle, a cheerful voice is now missing at the fire
    side and society mourns the loss of one of its brightest ornaments.

    On Thursday evening, March 21, at Swift Island, Montgomery Co., Lizzie, daughter of Henry
    and Nancy Harris, aged 11 years, was seriously burned. She was in the house when she
    caught fire. Her invalid sister, who was near, made an effort to extinguish the fire, but before
    she could do so, the little girl ran to her mother, who was in the yard, and before the flames
    could be extinguished she was distressingly burned. A physician was immediately called and
    all necessary applications resorted to, but availed nothing. She survived 12 to 15 hours in the
    most excruciating agonies. She was a sweet little girl—would do her full task in the Factory
    from six in the morning till six in the evening and then assist her mother with her duty at home.
    Her sweet smiles will be long remembered in the neighborhood. When she was placed in her
    coffin, each of her little mates in the Factory, dropped a sprig of cedar in before being closed,
    as a token of remembrance of little Lizzie. A most affecting scene occurred—the corpse as
    natural as life, her cheeks as red and sweet as the fresh rosebud.
    Now freed from all earthly ills she lies—
    In realms of purest light—
    Beneath a Savior’s genial smile,
    She shines, and Angel bright.

    We may breathe Willie’s name while he sleeps in the shade
    Whither cold and unhonored his relics are laid,
    Sad, silent and dark be the tears we shed
    As the night dew that falls on the grass o’er Willie’s head.

    But the night dew, tho’ in silence weeps,
    Shall brighten with verdure the grave where Willie sleeps
    And the tears that are shed, though in secret rolls,
    Shall long keep the memory of Willie green in our souls
