  Transferred from Company F, 17th Regiment N.C. Troops (2nd Organization) April 27, 
1864.   Captured at Fort Fisher January 15, 1965 and confined at Elmira, New York where
he died March 7, 1865 of pneumonia.   Buried in Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira,
New York.

July 3, 1863 on promotion to Sergeant-Major.  Discharged near Richmond, Virginia
October 15, 1864 due to wounds.
