Charles A. Winders, Private
2nd Co. C, 2nd Regiment NCST

Born in Duplin County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in
Wayne County at age 20, July 2, 1861, for the war.  Present of accounted
for until he died on July 25, 1862.  Middle name was Ashford.  Died in
camp near Richmond, Virginia, July 25, 1862, of "typhoid fever."
